Please note: lunch is not provided on Thursday. However, there are many dining options available near the learning center in downtown Waterloo.

Sub-groups are welcome to arrive early and start early if desired.
2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. — Keynote by Quentin M. Hart, Mayor of Waterloo, IA
Mayor Quentin Hart is the first African American elected to the office of Mayor for the City of Waterloo, Iowa. Preceding the election, Mr. Hart was the Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs for Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa, providing leadership for multicultural initiatives and promoting awareness and appreciation for diversity on campus and the community. In the eight years preceding his mayoral election, Mayor Hart represented the citizens of Waterloo as Ward 4 Councilman and was the first African American-appointed Mayor Pro-Tem for the City of Waterloo. Hart currently is a doctoral candidate at Iowa State University in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. He received his MAE in Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs from the University of Northern Iowa and is also a 2013 graduate of the Thomas Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership. Hart is happily married to Cassandra Hart, a 2007 Gold Star Award Teacher, and is the father of two sons, Quentin Jr. and Quenden; and one daughter, Halayah.

5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. — Dinner and “Humor in the Workplace” by C. Willi Myles
C. Willi Myles has applied his athletic coaching and teamwork experience to the hospitality industry where he has received many customer service honors. Myles has received Disney’s highest customer service and leadership honor – “Train the Trainer” the Disney Way! His training and leadership skills have been used by many of the national hotel chains including the Sheraton and Radisson companies. He has recently completed similar programs in various healthcare organizations including Methodist and Fairview Health Systems. Myles is a certified Radisson, “Train the Trainer, 100% Guest Satisfaction, Making It Right, and Yes I Can” trainer. He is a former assistant basketball & football coach at St. Cloud State University. During his six years as an asst. coach, they won four Conference Championships (3 in Basketball & 1 in Football). Currently, Myles is a nationally touring comedian with over 1,000 shows in 49 states & 3 countries and the CEO of his own Entertainment Company – C. Willi Myles Entertainment, Inc. which includes a talent agency, consulting and publishing company. He is also the founder and chairman of The Stand Up Foundation, which helps to raise money for the Children’s Home Society & Family Service Adoption Program, as well as organizations that foster life skills, educational development & opportunities for the underprivileged.

9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. — Breakout Sessions (Click Here for Descriptions)
10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. — Keynote: “5 Words that Create Change” by Pat McGill
In this keynote, Pat will all at once entertain and inform us. Her keynote could alternately be titled:
“Egg. Carrot. Coffee Bean. Water.” , “Don’t Nibble On A Turd.” , “Life is Change, Change is Constant, Growth is Gradual (yet optional)” , or “The Journey is the Joy.”
Conference concludes at 3:00 p.m.; attendees may dismiss from their breakout sessions.

- Full-Time Graduate Students of Associate Member Graduate Programs* — 50% off registration
* Must be a currently enrolled, full-time graduate student of a master’s or doctorate program which has been approved as an ICCSSA Associate Member. Working professionals who are also taking graduate coursework do not qualify for this discount and will be asked to pay the regular rates listed above. Conference payment is expected unless a notice of cancellation or a request to change attending days is provided to Chris Entringer at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, September 23rd. Cancellations, attendance changes, or no-shows after this date will be expected to pay the registration fee according to the days of planned attendance indicated on the attendee’s original registration form. Your registration may be changed to another person at your same institution as long as that person is not already on the registered list.
The fee covers event costs, including a dinner Thursday night and a continental breakfast and full lunch on Friday. Payments are preferred by the day of the conference and can be made via credit card (through Square), check, or cash. Invoices will be emailed to participants individually, but group invoices are also an option if preferred.
